Statler, Ishmael Charles

Ishmael Statler, 68, of LaMonte died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center.

There will be no services.

Mr. Statler was born April 16, 1938, in Sedgewickville, son of Ishmael D. and Audrey Ayers Statler. He married Eva Lacompte.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, one brother, five sisters and eight grandchildren.

Arrangements under direction of Nilson Funeral Home, 5611 St. Charles Road.

Ishmael C. Statler of La Monte died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center. He was 68.

Mr. Statler was born April 16, 1938, in Sedgewickville to Ishmael D. and Audrey Ayers Statler.

His sister Maye Howenwarter remembers how much he liked to tease people as a child. Most of all, she remembers his love for baseball.

“We always called him ‘Charlie’ until he went to the Air Force,” she said. “(After entering the Air Force), someone nicknamed him ‘Stan’ because of Stan Musial and his love of baseball.”

Mr. Statler was married to Eva Lacompte.

At the time of his death, he had been retired from the Air Force for 20 years.

Mr. Statler is survived by his wife of La Monte; three sons, Eric Statler of La Monte, Jeff Statler of Sedalia and Jared Statler of Warrensburg; two daughters, Tina Holt of La Monte and Vicki Walton of Georgetown, Mo.; one brother, George Statler of Memphis, Tenn.; five sisters, Mayme Rutherford of Godfrey, Ill., Ann Schaa of Conway, Ark., Sammie Henson of Independence, Maye Howenwarter of Quarryville, Pa., and Karen Burgett of Wyandotte, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.

A sister, Sheron Carter, died earlier.

No services will be held.
