Statler, James Russell
McGEHEE — James Russell Statler of McGehee died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007.
He was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Egypt, Ark., to the late George Fox and Sarah Caraway Statler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Michael Statler, Norfolk, Va., Kevin Statler, Newport, Felicia Davis and Neil Mitchell, both of Little Rock, Debra Bornemeier, West Memphis, and Jennifer McKenney, Piggott; sisters, Geneva Statler, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Virginia Glover, Conway; brother, John Henry Statler, Walnut Ridge; and 10 grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at First Baptist Church in McGehee Friday at 11 a.m. A second celebration will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church in Little Rock Sunday at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Service of McGehee.
