Statler, Lorraine M. (nee Sheffler)
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Lorraine M. Sheffler Statler, 70, of 216 1/2 Park St., died Saturday,
March 22, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born June 23, 1926, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Merle A. and Dorothy
Pentz Sheffler.
She was a 1944 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
She was employed at South Mountain Restoration Center in South Mountain, Pa., as a nurses'
assistant for 21 years, retiring Jan. 8, 1988.
She attended Antrim Faith Baptist Church in Waynesboro.
She was a member of National AARP.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Potts of Waynesboro, Sharon A. Horton of
Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sons, Cliff "Butch" Statler of Willard, N.C., and Harold
H. Statler of Waynesboro; a twin sister, M. LaRue Jones of Chambersburg; eight
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Merle Allen Sheffler Jr.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St.,
Waynesboro. Herbert S. Busick, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill
Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
