Funeral services for Verna G. Statler of Patton were conducted by the Rev. Stan Martin at 11 a.m., May 22, 1993 at Liley Funeral Chapel in Patton. Burial was in the Patton Cemetery.
Mrs. Statler, 100, died May 19, 1993 at Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill. She was born Feb. 27, 1893 in Patton, a daughter of George and Susie (Shirley) Grindstaff. On April 16, 1914, she was married to Andrew Statler, who died in December of 1965.
She was a member of the Patton Presbyterian church and its Ladies Circle.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn Statler of Valley Park, and Perry Statler of Lixville; one daughter, Grace Osburn of Patton; a sister, Jewell Rankins of St. Charles; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.
