Statler, Virgil H.
Funeral services for Virgil H. Statler of Sedgewickville were conducted at the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church by the Rev. William Brooks, pastor, on Dec. 3, 1988 at 1 p.m. Interment was in the Lixville-Sedgewickville Lutheran Cemetery near Sedgewickville with arrangements handled by McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Mr. Statler, 77, died at 10:55 p.m., Nov. 30, 1988 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, where he was admitted a short time before. He was born July 7, 1911 at Sedgewickville, a son of Daniel and Sarah Statler. On Feb. 16, 1932, he was married to Edna Mae Fellow in Perryville. She survives.
He farmed in the Sedgewickville area his entire lifetime, and was a member of the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Muredith Statler Sams of Sedgewickville; a granddaughter, Melonie Conrad of Cape Girardeau; two stepgrandchildren and four greaat-stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother.
