Funeral rites for Woodrow A. Statler of Jackson were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 23, 1993 at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Fred Rister officiated, and burial was in the Sedgewickville Cemetery. A Masonic service was conducted at the funeral chapel at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 22.

Mr. Statler, 78, died Oct 20, 1993 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 14, 1915 in Sedgewickville, a son of Rudolph and Catherine Bollinger Statler. On March 17, 1933, he married to Hazel Bollinger, who died May 12, 1985.

He is a veteran of World War II having served in the Army. Mr. Statler was a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, Excelsior Masonic Lodge in Jackson, and the Sword of Bunker Hill.

Mr. Statler was a self-employed carpenter for a number of years. He was employed by the Jackson R-2 School District, maintenance department, from 1965 to 1976, when he retired.

Surviving are three sons, William (Rudy) Statler of Pace, Fl., Gene A. Statler of Patton, and Glenn R. Statler of Sedgewickville; one daughter, Joy Englehart of Jackson; two sisters, Janie Crites of Gordonville, and Grace Johnson of Jackson; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
