PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ricky Lyn Stearns, 59, of Perryville died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at his home.

He was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, to Herby Stearns and Dorothy Self Stearns. He and Nancy S. Thiele were married Sept. 28, 1974, in Jackson; she survives.

Stearns had been a bridgeman for Union Pacific Railroad, and served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife; son, Andrew Stearns of St. Charles, Mo.; siblings Sue (Jerry) Schremp, Larry (Cynthia) Stearns, Ronald (Rosemary) Stearns and Thomas Stearns, all of Perryville, and Janice (Michael) Bruning of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Dale Stearns.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to time of service Thursday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Milton Ryan, CM officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville, with graveside military honors courtesy of the American Legion Post No. 133 and the Delta Team.

Memorials can be made to Southeast Hospice.

A funeral will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 for 59-year-old Ricky Lyn Stearns of Perryville who died December 22nd, 2012 at his home.

He was born December 16, 1953 in Cape Girardeau, the son of Herby Stearns and Dorothy Self Stearns who both preceded him in death.

He married Nancy S. Thiele on Sept. 28, 1974 at Jackson. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by a son: Andrew Stearns of St. Charles; two sisters: Sue (Jerry) Schremp of Perryville and Janice (Michael) Bruning of St. Louis and three brothers: Larry (Cynthia) Stearns; Ronald (Rosemary) Stearns and Thomas Stearns all of Perryville.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Stearns.

Ricky had been a bridge man for the Union Pacific Railroad.

He had served in the National Guard.
