Steele, Betty C. (nee McCarthy)
A funeral will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2012 for 69-year-old Betty C. Steele of Perryville who died October 12, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born June 23, 1943 in St. Louis, the daughter of James and Chlola (Brown) McCarthy who both preceded her in death.
She married Esmond Steele on June 28, 1958. He survives in Perryville
She is also survived by six daughters and one son: Mary Steele, Anne (Morris) Holmes, Daniel (Donna) Steele and Lori (Brian) Villmer, all of Perryville, Lisa Haycraft of Tamaroa, Illinois, Melissa Steele (Jerry) Lufcy and Joan Steele all of Perryville; two brothers, Mike (Jane) McCarthy of Farmington and James (Debra) McCarthy of Middleburg, Florida; a maternal aunt, Viola Clifton of Alton, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Harry Brown; and three great-grandchildren.
She had worked in the clothing dept. at Wal-Mart in Perryville.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and Alter Sodality in Sereno.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 16th and 6:30-9:20 a.m. Wednesday, October 17th at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral mass for 69-year-old Betty C. Steele of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno. The Rev. Bill Rhinehardt CM will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent Food Pantry.
