Steffens, Amanda C. (nee Detjen)
FROHNA, Mo. -- Amanda C. Steffens, 84, of Frohna died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville, Mo.
She was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Edward and Ida Roth Detjen. She and Willard L. Steffens were married May 11, 1947. He preceded her in death May 11, 1998.
Mrs. Steffens had been co-owner of Steffens Orchard. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and LWML in Altenburg, Mo.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Denise Steffens of Perryville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Larry Goetz of Chaffee, Mo., Christine and Roger Schlichting of Frohna; a son-in-law, Ronald Meyr of New Wells; a sister, Helen Stueve of Farrar, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Janice Meyr; a grandson, Steven Goetz; a great-granddaughter, Emily Niedbalski; and a brother, Melvin Detjen.
Visitation will be a from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Sunday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Jonathan Stites officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

A funeral will be held Sunday, July 22nd, 2012 for 84 year-old Amanda Steffens of Frohna, who died Thursday, July 19th, 2012 at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born August 28th, 1927 in Cape Girardeau County, the daughter of Edward and Ida (Roth) Detjen. They preceded her in death.
She and Willard L. Steffens were married on May 11th, 1947. He preceded her in death.

Visitation will be at the Young & Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg on Saturday, July 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and on Sunday, July 22nd from 8:00 am until 12:15 pm.
