Steffens, Omar T.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, December 20th for 73-year-old Omar T. Steffens of Frohna, who died Monday, December 18, 2000 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born April 2nd, 1927 in Farrar, Missouri, the son of Claus and Frieda (Koenig) Steffens who both preceded in death.
He married Mabel L. Petzoldt on February 27th, 1954 - she survives.
He is also survived by three sons: Duaine Steffens of Jackson, Kevin Steffens of Frohna and Rodney Steffens of Altenburg.
Three brothers and five sisters also survive: Herbert Steffens of St. Louis; Donald Steffens of Perryville; Allyn Steffens of Perryville; Leonora Winter of Frohna; Florence Sweeney of LeMay; Ellen Lewis of St. Louis; Gloria Mueller of Farrar and Georgia Koehler of Tennessee.
Six grandchildren survive as well.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
Mr. Steffens was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna, the Choir, Men's Club and the Church Trustee and Church Finance Committee.
He was a World War II Veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 133.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, December 19th and on Wednesday, December 20th from 6:30-8:30 a.m. at the Young and Sons East Perry Chapel. An American Legion Wake will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
A funeral for 73-year-old Omar T. Steffens of Frohna will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 10 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna with the Reverend Wayne Palmer officiating. Burial in the church cemetary.
Memorials may be made to the Concordia Church Remodeling Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
