Summers, Lillian Ethel (nee Sites)

Lillian Ethel Summers daughter of the late William Seymore and Clara Sites, was born on January 29, 1903 in Bourbon, Missouri and departed this life on August 21, 1991 at the Sullivan Nursing Center in Sullivan, Missouri, having attained the age of 88 years, 6 months and 22 days.

Ethel was a longtime resident of Crawford County. She was employed by the International Shoe Company in Sullivan for several years. Along with her husband she was also engaged in farming.

On June 13, 1941 at Clayton, Missouri she was united in marriage to Fred Summers who preceded her in death.  Surviving her are a sister-in-law, Lelia Sites of Bourbon, Missouri; two brother-in-law, George Summers of St. Louis, Missouri and Harry Summers of Birch Tree, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Besides those previously mentioned she was preceded in death by six sisters, Etta Carter, Minnie Bohnenkamp, Amy Bohnenkamp, Mary Schlafer, Evelyn Sites: four brothers, Wesley, Walter, William and Wilbur Sites.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 24, 1991 from Hassebroek's Bourbon Chapel in Bourbon, Missouri with Rev. Andrew Jackson Fowler officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Butts, Missouri.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hasselbroek's, Bourbon, Missouri.
