Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 5, 2004 for 81-year-old Jeanette Sutterer of Chesterfield, formerly of Perryville who died Sunday, Feb. 1 at St. Luke’s Surrey Place in Chesterfield.
She was born on May 5, 1922 in Jackson, the daughter of the late August and Minnie (Peetz) Hoffmeister.
She was married to Howard Sutterer on Aug. 27, 1942. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2000.
One daughter and son-in-law survive, Betty and Mike Mercer of Chesterfield.
Two sisters and one brother survive: Mabel Schaefer of Cape Girardeau; Carlene Kasten of Jackson; and Norman Hoffmeister of Creve Coeur.
One granddaughter, Madeline Mercer, survives.
She was preceded in death by one son, Russell Sutterer; three sisters, Henrietta Godwin, Hycenth Smith and Gertrude Lloyd; and three brothers, Paul, Jack and Phillip Hoffmeister.
She was a former member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 5 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral service for Jeanette Sutterer will be held Thursday, February 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Young and Sons Chapel. Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorial preference is to charity of choice.
