Tarrillion, Howard A., Sr.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Howard A. Tarrillion Sr., 83, of Perryville died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 26, 1929, in Millheim, Mo., son of Arthur Thomas and Anna D. Scharenborg Tarrillion. He and Thelma M. Rudisaile were married March 26, 1951.

Tarrillion worked as a meat cutter at various places around Perryville. He retired from Menard Prison as a food supervisor and lastly worked at Rozier's in the meat department. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Survivors include his wife; five children, H. "Bud" (Karren) Tarrillion, Phyllis Leible, Tamara "Tami" Tarrillion and Tim (Tammy) Tarrillion, all of Perryville, John (Michele) Tarrillion of Fayetteville, N.C., Duane (Pam) Tarrillion of Perryville; six siblings, Virginia Clements, Tom Tarrillion, George (Margaret) Tarrillion, Mildred (Allen) Winkler, Kenny (Donna) Tarrillion and Nancy (Junior) Cissell, all of Perryville; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William "Bill" Tarrillion; a brother, Gerald Tarrillion; and a sister, Laverne Riehn.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. A wake will be held at 7 tonight. The rosary will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Stephen Gallegos officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Vincent Schools & St. Vincent School Endowment.
