PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Clyde W. Taylor, 91, of Perryville died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. A funeral will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 for 91-year-old Clyde W. Taylor of Perryville who died December 25, 2014 at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville.
He was born July 29, 1923 in Perryville, the son of John and Ora (Johnson) Taylor.
He married Dorothy Fischer were July 30, 1949. She survives in Perryville.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters: Susan (Robert Wright) Taylor of Perryville, David (Sue) Taylor of Festus, Judith (Eric) Murray of Fenton and Charles Taylor of Washington; a brother: Eugene (Dorothy) Taylor of Perryville, a sister-in-law: Ida Mae Taylor of Perryville; a brother-in-law: Louis Phillips of St. Louis; four grandchildren: Marty, Susan, Amber and Jason, and five great grandchildren: Ryleigh, McKenzie, Charlie, Carol and Emma.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Clyde was a factory worker and a foreman at Hussmann Refrigeration.
Clyde was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II, serving in the 1949th Engineering Company. He entered in February of 1943 and was honorably discharged in March of 1946 as a sergeant.
He was a member of American Legion Post 133. He was a former member of the V.F.W. Post 4282.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Independence Care Center and to Dorothy Barry for proof that angels do walk among us.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 28 at Young & Sons Funeral Home from 4 – 8 pm.
Visitation will continue on Monday from 6:30 – 11:00 am.
A funeral for 91-year-old Clyde W. Taylor of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Young & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery with military graveside service provided by the American Legion Post 133 and the Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to charity of your choice.
