In later years, she taught religion classes and served as head of the kitchen at the Leopold Picnic. She loved reading, making soap and quilting. After her children moved out of the home, Rose Ann enjoyed serving as president of the Bollinger County Historical Society, hostessing countless weekends at the Massey Log House and volunteering at the Bollinger County Archives office. She was instrumental in cleaning and repairing books of county history rescued from the basement of the courthouse.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, with burial in the church cemetery.
