Thieret, Lloyd P., Sr.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lloyd P. Thieret, 89, of Perryville died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Independence Care Center.

He was born April 15, 1918, at Belgique, Mo., son of Anthun P. and Lula Hagan Thieret. He and Geraldine Van Dyne were married Feb. 4, 1944, at Independence, Kan.

Thieret was a farmer; he owned and operated Thieret Farms Inc. for 40 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a sergeant in the Air Force. Thieret was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 133 and Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include six sons, Lloyd Thieret Jr. of St. Louis, Larry Thieret, Donald Thieret, Ronald Thieret, Stephen Thieret, all of Perryville, Thomas Thieret of Farmington, Mo.; four daughters, Judy Lukefahr, Linda Blechle, both of Perryville, Donna Jones, Nancy Armstrong, both of Rolla, Mo.; a sister, Maretta Cattoor of Perryville; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish wake with Knights of Columbus is at 7 p.m., with American Legion service to follow. Visitation continues from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday; the Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with graveside military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, February 26th, 2008 for 89-year-old Lloyd P. Thieret of Perryville, who died Thursday, February 21st at the Independence Care Center in Perryville.

He was born April 15th, 1918 in Belgique, the son of Anthun P. and Lula Hagan Thieret who both preceded him in death.

He married Geraldine Van Dyne on February 4th, 1944. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by six sons: Lloyd Thieret Jr. of St. Louis, Larry Thieret, Donald Thieret, Ronald Thieret and Stephen Thieret, all of Perryville and Thomas Thieret of Farmington; four daughters: Judy Lukefahr and Linda Blechle, both of Perryville, Donna Jones and Nancy Armstrong, both of Rolla; a sister, Maretta Cattoor of Perryville; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Norma; a brother, Howard and a grandchild.

He was a farmer who owned and operated Thieret Farms, Inc. for 40 years. He was a U.S. Air Force World War II veteran.

He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post No. 133 and was a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, February 25th and 6:30-9:50 a.m. Tuesday, February 26th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.

A Knights of Columbus wake will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, with the American Legion wake to follow. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 89-year-old Lloyd P. Thieret of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 26th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Milton Ryan, CM, will officiate.
