Trickey, Fern (nee Green)

Fern Trickey, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born May 1, 1916, in Cape Girardeau, to James L. and Lenora Bell Limbaugh Green.

Fern owned and operated Jack Trickey's Men's Store 25 years. She loved to cook for her family and was an avid gardener. Fern was a member of Chipaway Golf Club and played until she was 94. She was an Order of Eastern Star member 75 years, a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church, and was voted into the Women's International Bowling Hall of Fame in 2002.

Survivors include two sons, James L. and Tina Trickey Sr., Jack and Jean Ann Trickey Jr., all of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Heather Dawn Cato of Walla Walla, Wash., Jason C. Trickey and Jack C. Trickey III of Jackson, Stephanie Hirner of Kansas City, Mo., Patricia Rea Trickey of Cape Girardeau; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Claude Trickey Sr.; a grandson, James Trickey Jr.; three brothers, Les, Harvey and Marvin Green; and a sister, Ersa Green Looney.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
