Tucker, Hazel Marie (nee Moonier)

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Hazel M. Tucker, 81, of Perryville died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Randolph County, Ill., daughter of Pius and Marcella Brewer Moonier. She and LeRoy J. Tucker were married Feb. 18, 1939. He died Sept. 7, 1977.

Tucker retired as a nurse assistant at Perry County Hospital. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1263 Auxiliary, VFW Post 4282 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 133 Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Tucker of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Larry Tucker of Donna, Texas; three daughters, Rose Brown, Nancy Amberger and Sandy Weinkein, all of Perryville; a sister, Rose Paulus of Perryville; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sons, an infant daughter, a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. The VFW Auxiliary wake will be at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, and the parish wake will be at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, Mo. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
