Unger, Oma D. (nee Cobble)

Oma D. Unger, 87, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 25, 1916, in Oak Ridge, daughter of Joe and Frieda Wills Cobble. She and Robert E. "Bob" Unger were married Aug. 30, 1933. He passed away March 26, 1985.

Oma was a life member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church. She was formerly active in the UMA and Byrd's Creek Homemakers Club.

Loving survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Imogene Unger of Frohna, Bill and Janice Unger of Jackson, Jim and Marlene Unger of Monrovia, Calif.; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Nancy and John Hale of Cape Girardeau, Judy and Charles Fadler of Jackson, Angie and Mel Delk and Karen and Del Meinz of Oakville, Mo., Sue Beck of Jackson; a brother, James Cobble of Arnold, Mo.; two sisters, Verla Kinder of Daisy, Renee Jones of Highland, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother, and a sister.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Craig Petzoldt officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Oak Ridge United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
