Versheldon, William J., Jr.
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- William J. Versheldon Jr., 73, of Perryville died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 27, 1934, at Perryville, son of William J. and Ruth A. Zoellner Versheldon. He and Dorothy Welker were married Nov. 27, 1965, at Apple Creek, Mo.
Versheldon worked for Citizens Electric Corp. for 32 years as a superintendent. He was an Army veteran. Versheldon was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and American Legion Post 133.
Survivors include his wife of Perryville; two sons, Terry Versheldon of St. Charles, Mo., Randy Versheldon of Chesterfield, Mo.; three daughters, Karen Fitzpatrick of St. Peters, Mo., Connie Siebenmorgan of Bloomington, Ill., Sheila Schilling of Perryville; his mother of Perryville; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., with the American Legion service immediately following. Visitation continues from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133.
