A funeral will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 for 97-year-old Marie "Pete" Voelker of Perryville who died July 28, 2013.
She was born May 15, 1916 in Perryville the daughter of the Glenton and Birdie (Dunker) Welker who both preceded her in death.
She married Lawrence E. Voelker October 25, 1937. He preceded her in death April 9, 1974.
She is survived by a son: Michael (Joan) Voelker of St. Mary; four daughters: Patricia Moore of Perryville, Janet Clark of Perryville, Rose Mary (Gerald) Grass of St. Charles and Jacqueline (William) Ashworth of Seattle, Washington; one half-sister: Margie (Ron) Heck of the state of Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, one half sister, two stepsisters, two step brothers and two grandsons.
She had worked at Prince Gardner Company in St. Mary.
She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Ladies of Charity and Daughters of Isabella.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
A funeral mass for 97-year-old Marie "Pete" Voelker of Perryville will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Milton Ryan, CM will officiate.
Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, August1, 2013.
The family prefers memorials to be made to St. Vincent School System in Perryville.
