Voges, W. L.

W. L. Voges, 79, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 28, 1935, in Jackson, son of Earl H. and Louise C. Schloss Voges. He and Anna Dean Dickmann were married June 1, 1963.

W.L. was a graduate of Jackson High School. He enlisted in the National Guard on March 2, 1959, and was honorably discharged June 24, 1961. W.L. was a school bus driver for 40 years with the Jackson School District. He also worked as a self-employed mechanic for many years and owned and operated a farm West of Jackson. W.L. enjoyed going to Auto Tire and Parts in Jackson most mornings just to visit.

Loving survivors include his wife of 51 years, Anna Dean; a daughter, Pam (Jim) Walter of Jackson; a son, Scott (Claudia) Voges of Millersville; three grandchildren, Nichole (John) Glueck of Kingsland, Georgia, Jacob Walter of Burfordville and Kori Ann Voges of Millersville; a great-grandson, Gavin Glueck of Kingsland; one brother, Robert Lynn (Vera Jean) Voges of Jackson; and one sister, Verla (Calvin) Sailer of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
