Wallis, Mary Elizabeth
Marble Hill, Mo. -- Mary E. Wallis, 89, of Marble Hill passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home.
She was born July 28, 1923, to Charles and Ida Yount Wallis.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Bollinger County, Mo. She taught in several Missouri public schools, including McKelvy, Glenallen, Glennon, Grassy and Lutesville. She was associated with Wallis Family Store from 1941 to 2006. Mary was a member of Marble Hill United Methodist Church and Marble Hill Rebecca's Lodge.
Survivors include two nephews, John (Lois) Whitner of Marble Hill, Terry Conrad of Patton, Mo.; two great-nephews, Justin and Chris (Jessica) Conrad, both of Patton; two great-great-nephews, Chase and Bode Conrad, both of Patton, Mo.; great-great-niece Ali Conrad of Patton; and several cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother J.B. Wallis, sister Willma Whitener and niece Mary Lou Conrad.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Virgil Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Hahn Chapel Cemetery.
