Weinkein, Virginia Helen (nee Braun)

HIGHLAND, Mo. -- Virginia H. Weinkein, 81, of Highland died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Perryville, Mo.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Young and Sons Chapel, with prayer service at 7 p.m. and 6:30 to 9:40 a.m. Tuesday with rosary recited at 8:30 a.m.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 for 81-year-old Virginia H. Weinkein of Highland, who died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Perryville

She was born November 13th, 1927 in Perry County, the daughter of the late Sanford and Glorzy (Balsman) Braun.

She married Cletus J. Weinkein on November 13, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1988.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Gene and Rhonda Weinkein of Linn, John and Sandra Weinkein of Inverness, Florida, three daughters and sons-in-law; Helen and Michael Naeger of Anchorage, Alaska, Cheryl and Steve Hotop of Perryville, Mary Weinkein of Bonne Terre, one brother; Paul Braun of Ste. Genevieve, five sisters; Wilma Albertson of Peoria, Illinois, Bernetta and Jeanette Roth both of Ozora, Anna Christisen of Perryville, Edna Rose Shouse of the state of Illinois, 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

She had worked 29 years at the International Shoe Company. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Thomas J. Weinkein, two brothers; Joseph and Sylvester Braun, one sister: Barbara Buchheit and one grandson: Jamie Brewer.

Memorials are preferred to Southeast Hospice

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 15th and 6:30-9:20 a.m. Tuesday, June 16th at the Young and Sons Chapel. Prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday. Rosary recited at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A funeral mass for 81-year-old Virginia H. Weinkein will be held Tuesday, June 16th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland. The Rev. Robert Brockland will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
