Weinkein, Wallace I.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wallace I. Weinkein, 90, of Perry County died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 6, 1914, in Perry County, son of Isadore and Mary Klemp Weinkein. He and Anna Kiefer were married Sept. 27, 1947, in Highland, Mo. She died in 1983.

Weinkein was a farmer and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of the St. Joseph Parish in Highland, the VFW and American Legion.

Survivors include one daughter, Iris Kain of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Cleo Weinkein Berkbigler of Highland; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, with the VFW service at 6 p.m., and visitation will also be from 6:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Highland.
