Weisbrod, Cletus E.

JACKSON, Mo. -- Funeral Mass for Cletus E. Weisbrod of Jackson will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Apple Creek, Mo., with military honors to be conducted.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Weisbrod, 77, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus service.

He was born April 12, 1925, at Longtown, Mo., son of Edward J. and Flora Hennemann Weisbrod. He and Mary C. Meyer were married April 12, 1947, at Apple Creek. She died Oct. 27, 1999.

Weisbrod had worked at International Shoe Co. in Perryville, then was owner/operator of the former Lowes and Weisbrod Construction, and later was a partner with Weisbrod Construction. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Knights of Columbus, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, and Jackson Senior Citizens.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and served aboard the USS Casablanca.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Bullinger of Columbia, S.C.; three sons, Dale Weisbrod of Festus, Mo., David Weisbrod of Barnhart, Mo., Daniel Weisbrod of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; a brother, Harold Weisbrod of Perryville; a sister, Eunice Kiefer of Perryville; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons.
