Weiss, Ernest E.

A funeral will be held Friday, November 21st, 2008 for 74-year-old Ernest E. Weiss of Perryville who died today, Monday, November 17th, at his residence.

He was born August 6th, 1934 in Perry County, the son of Rudolph and Bertha (Metzger) Weiss, who both preceded him in death.

He married Rosemary Flora Weisbrod on June 11th, 1955. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by a daughter and son in law, Sheryl and Russel Winschel of Perryville; a son and daughter in law, Mark and Maya Prizzi-Weiss of St. Louis; a brother and sister in law, Glennon and Genie Weiss of Dothan, Alabama; two daughters and sons in law, Barbara and Edwin Huber of Decatur, Illinois and Rita and Robert Laurentius of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Jennifer Tolcou, Jason (Holly) Williamson, Andrew (Jackie) Williamson and Gianina, Audry and Sadie Weiss; a great granddaughter, Samantha Williamson; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ben Weiss.

He was a roofing contractor, beginning in 1952 with AALCO Roofing, Inc. of St. Louis, where he later became owner-operator from 1966 until his retirement in 2007.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland, where he served on the church council and in the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Council No. 1263. He was also a member of the Mountain Vew Hunting League.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday, November 20th and 6:30-9:20 a.m. Friday, November 21st at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 20th at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 74-year-old Ernest E. Weiss of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 21st at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland. The Revs. Robert Brockland and Tony Dattilo will concelebrate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
