Welker, Patsy Ann (nee Riehn)
Patsy Boyd Welker, 66, of Millersville passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004, at the Lutheran Home at Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 16, 1938, near Millersville, daughter of Hubert and Hattie Schuette Riehn. She and Jack S. Boyd were married March 23, 1956. He died Feb. 8, 1991. She later married Bobby Gene Welker on May 17, 1997. He died May 9, 2001.
Patsy was a graduate of Jackson High School and a life-long member of the Old Salem United Methodist Church near Millers-ville. She was actively involved on the family farm with her husband Jack for 31 years. She also had worked as a teller at the former Mercantile Bank in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1997.
Loving survivors include her father, Hubert Riehn of Millersville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Ken Friese of Friedheim, Mo., Tina and Tom Shabel of Herman, Mo., and Sandy and Doug Kasten of Jackson; two sisters, Barbara Brotherton of Troy, Mo., and Mary Jo Hueter of Millersville; brother Michael Riehn of Millersville; eight grandchildren, Waylon and Blake Friese, Michael Lynn Pfeiffer, Brandy Keith and Josh Boyd, and Dustin, Tyler and Kyle Rees; two stepgrandchildren, Eric and Tiffany Kasten; and five great-grandchildren.
Patsy was also preceded in death by her mother; one son, Stewart Wayne Boyd; and one brother, Gary Wayne Riehn.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home at Jackson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 28, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Calvin Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Old Salem Methodist Church.
