Welker, Virgil
Virgil Welker, age 89, of Marble Hill, MO passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born December 6, 1924 in Advance, MO; son of Barney and Mae Devenport Welker.
He and Nadine Garland were united in marriage on September 18, 1943.
Virgil was a saw miller all of his life. He loved working with horses and playing bluegrass music, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: his wife Nadine Welker, daughter-n-law Carolyn Welker; daughters Thelma (Doug) Miles; Doris Bailey; sister Iva Padgett all of Marble Hill; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry Woodrow, brothers Von and Leroy, sisters Adell Garland, Madine Atchison and five infant siblings three brothers and two infant sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Jimmie Fulbright and Jimmy Miles officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill.
