PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Merle A. Wibbenmeyer, 84, of Perryville died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Perry County, Mo., to Vincent and Elvira Hoffman Emmendorfer. She and Anton "Tony" Wibbenmeyer were married June 1, 1948, in Perryville. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1999...

A funeral will be held Saturday, October 8th, 2011 for 84-year-old Merle Wibbenmeyer of Perryville, who died Thursday, October 6th, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born November 3rd, 1926 in Perry County, the daughter of Vincent and Elvira (Hoffman) Emmendorfer. They preceded her in death.

She married Anton Wibbenmeyer June 1st, 1948 in Perryville. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children; Doris (Jim) Rehkop of Perryville, Diana (Jerry) Balsman of Jackson, Larry (Vicki) Wibbenmeyer of Ste. Genevieve, Linda Wibbenmeyer of Perryville, Sharon (Gary) West of Cape Girardeau, Jane Steele of Cape Girardeau, Faye (Steve) Bohnert of Perryville; a daughter in law, Pam Wibbenmeyer of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Chalmer Emmendorfer of East Moline, IL, Weldon Emmendorfer of Canton, OH; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and four great grandchildren on the way.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne and James; a brother, Lloyd; a granddaughter, Bridgett; a son in law, Etson Steele.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Aux.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday, October 7th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, with parish prayers at 7 p.m. Visitation continues Saturday, October 8th from 6:30-9:50 a.m., with Rosary recital at 9 a.m.

A funeral Mass for 84-year-old Merle Wibbenmeyer of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8th, 2011 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
