PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Ray Wibbenmeyer, 86, of Perryville died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, in Perryville.

He was born Nov. 10, 1921, at Biehle, Mo., son of Hugo and Cecelia Lappe Wibbenmeyer. He and Iona Cissell were married June 16, 1950.

Wibbenmeyer was a mechanic. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, American Legion Post 133 and Veteran of Foreign Wars.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a corporal in a field artillery battalion. He was awarded the Bronze Star.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Charles Wibbenmeyer of Ste. Genevieve, Paul Wibbenmeyer of Oakland, Calif., Kevin Wibbenmeyer of Sikeston, Mo., Patrick Wibbenmeyer of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Mary Keesee of High Ridge, Mo.; two brothers, Thomas Wibbenmeyer of Peoria, Ill., Ralph Wibbenmeyer of Old Appleton, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers will be at 6 tonight, followed by VFW service at 6:30 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery with graveside military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133.
