UNIONTOWN, Mo. -- Vera Rosina Amanda Wichern, 100, of Uniontown died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Independence Care Center of Perry County, Missouri. She was born March 11, 1915, in Uniontown, daughter of Joseph and Amanda Hemmann Hecht. She and Albert Wichern were married Feb. 20, 1938. He preceded her in death Jan. 18, 2001...

A funeral will be held Monday, May 25, 2015 for 100-year-old Vera Rosina Amanda Wichern of Uniontown, who died May 20, 2015 at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born March 11, 1915 in Uniontown, the daughter of Joseph and Amanda (Hemmann) Hecht who both preceded her in death.
She married Albert Wichern February 20, 1938. He preceded her in death January 18, 2001.
She is survived by two daughters and a son: Eileen (Charlie) Rauh of Perryville, Gerri (Ron) Hoehn of Peoria, Illinois and Dennis Wichern of Jackson; five grandchildren: Stephanie (Chris) Kroodsma, Tim (Kris) Rauh, Josh (Rhonda) Rauh, Phillip (Chelsea) Wichern and Amy (Adam) Lukefahr and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Bernice and Vernon Scholl; a brother: Hilmer Hecht and a sister: Thekla Hecht.
Vera was a homemaker and farm wife.
She was a life time member of Grace Lutheran Church and L.W.M.L. in Uniontown.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015 and 6:30-8:15 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2015 at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral for 100-year-old Vera Rosina Amanda Wichern of Uniontown will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery in Uniontown.
Memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Hour, Grace Lutheran Church or Saxony Lutheran High School.
