Wilkinson, Cecile Iona (nee Statler)
Cecile Iona Wilkinson, 95, of Jackson died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 5, 1913, to John H. and Ida Viola Hitt Statler. She married Ruthford C. Wilkinson on Dec. 11, 1937; he died Dec. 27, 1988.
She worked for 20 years as a cook and cafeteria manager for the Jackson R-2 School District, retiring in 1978. She belonged to First Baptist Church of Millersville, serving as church secretary. She was a 20-year member of the Willing Workers Sunday school class. She belonged to the Firemens' Auxiliary and was a member of the Millersville Homemakers Club and Quilting Club.
She is survived by two sons, Gary D (Judy) Wilkinson of Jackson and James W. (Louise) Wilkinson of Hurst, Texas; a daughter, LaDonna F. (Bob) Perusse of Justin, Texas; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Linus (Pete), Clyde and Earl, and a sister, Helen.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Daniel Hale officiating. Interment will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Millersville Baptist Church are requested.
