Wills, Opal O. (nee Martin)
Opal O. Wills, 96, of Millersville passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Aug. 20, 1913, in Millersville, daughter of August J. and Mary Riehn Martin. She and Earl Wills were married Dec. 23, 1933. They had been married 73 years when he passed away July 14, 2007.
Opal was a lifelong resident of the farm where she was born and raised. She was an avid gardener, growing abundant vegetables and flowers. She was a member of Old Salem Homemakers Club and a lifelong member of Old Salem United Methodist Church, formerly serving as treasurer and in numerous other capacities.
Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Ann Wills of Millersville; two grandsons, Alan (Karen) Wills and their children, Trent and Alyssa; Brent (Lori) Wills and their children, Kyla and Brandon, all of Jackson; a sister, Leona Kurre of Sedgewickville, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Doris Proctor of Millersville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, two half sisters and a half brother.
Friends may call today from 11 a.m. to service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Revs. Douglas McClellan and Daniel Hale officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Old Salem Church.
