PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- August W. "Gus" Wingerter, 87, of Perryville died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Perry County Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 17, 1915, at Biehle, Mo., son of Theodore and Theresa Pingel Wingerter. He and Ileen M. Hoffman were married July 31, 1937...

Funeral service will be held Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003 for 87-year-old August W. "Gus" Wingerter of Perryville who died Friday, Aug. 22 at Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1915 in Biehle, the son of the late Theodore and Theresa Pingel Wingerter.
He was married to Ileen M. Hoffman July 31, 1937. She survives in Perryville.
One daughter and two sons survive: Margery Ann Tucker, Terry A. Wingerter and Robert F. Wingerter, all of Perryville.
Also surviving are four grandchildren.
Five brothers, six sisters and one grandson preceded him in death.
Mr. Wingerter was retired from Menard Prison where he worked as a security guard.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 23 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Miller Family Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 6:30 a.m. until time of service.
Funeral service for August W. "Gus" Wingerter will be held Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Don Cox will officiate. Burial will be in the Home Cemetery.
