Winkler, Kathryn Irene (nee Koehler)
JACKSON - Mrs. Anton "Tony" Winkler, 57 years old, of Jackson
died at 8:55 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where she had
been a patient since Oct. 2. She had been in failing health the past four years.
The former Miss Kathryn Koehler was born July 11, 1923, Jackson, a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Henry C. Koehler. On Jan. 10, 1942, she married Mr. Winkler.
Mrs. Winkler was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
She was active in the Cursillo movement and was a member of the St.Anne's Sodality, and
the VFW Auxiliary in Cape Girardeau.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Jerry Winkler, Jackson Route 2; a daughter, Mrs. Betty
Merritt, Woodland Hills, Calif.; four brothers, Lawrence Koehler, Whitewater, Paul
Koehler, Cape Girardeau and Clem and Charles Koehler, both of Jackson; four sisters, Mrs.
Dewey Smith, Mrs. George Vinyard, Mrs. John Horrell, and Mrs. Tony Laurentus, all of
Jackson, and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
The body is at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where friends may call after noon
Tuesday. The Knights of Columbus will recite the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by
the scriptural Rosary at 8 p.m.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Chruch with the
Rev. William Stanton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery
here.
Pallbearers will be Larry, Lynn and Bob Winkler, Kenny Koehler, L.D. Smith and Jim
Vinyard.
