PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Hubert A. Winschel, 83, of Perryville died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Winschel was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Perry County, son of August and Helen (Ernst) Winschel. He and Virginia M. Pingel were married Jan. 20, 1951. She preceded him in death Sept. 6, 2011.

Hubert Winschel was a truck driver for Buchheits. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek and St. Joseph's Men Organization. Winschel was a U.S. Army Korean conflict veteran and a member of American Legion Post 133 and Western Catholic Union.

Survivors include two sons and four daughters, Ricky (Mary Ann) Winschel of St. Mary, Mo., Barb (Bob) Hagan, Mark (Margery) Winschel, Theresa Winschel, Mary (Paul) Roth and Jennifer Winschel, all of Perryville; three sisters and two brothers, Catherine (Melvin) Klump and Albin (Ruby) Winschel, both of St. Louis, Clara Buchheit of Cape Girardeau, Bernard Winschel and Mary Helen Newell of Perryville; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Hubert Winschel was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers and two sisters, Sylvanius Winschel, Urban Winschel, Loretta Paulus and Lenora Rellergert. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Marie Winschel.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. There will be a Catholic wake at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. Wednesday with a rosary recited at 8:15 a.m.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 for 83-year-old Hubert A. Winschel of Perryville who died May 20, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born November 8, 1928 in Perry County, the son of August and Helen (Ernst) Winschel who both preceded him in death.

He married Virginia M. Pingel on January 20, 1951. She preceded him in death on September 6, 2011.

He is survived by two sons: Ricky (Mary Ann) Winschel of St. Mary and Mark (Margery) Winschel of Perryville; four daughters: Barb (Bob) Hagan, Theresa Winschel, Mary (Paul) Roth and Jennifer Winschel all of Perryville; three sisters Catherine (Melvin) Klump of St. Louis, Clara Buchheit of Cape Girardeau, and Mary Helen Newell of Perryville; two brothers: Albin (Ruby) Winschel of St. Louis and Bernard Winschel of Perryville; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers Sylvanius Winschel, Urban Winschel; two sisters: Loretta Paulus and Lenora Rellergert; and one granddaughter: Angela Marie Winschel.

He was a truck driver for Buchheits.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Apple Creek and St. Joseph's Men Organization.
