Wolfenkoehler, Carrie Edna (nee Lange)

Carrie "Edna" Wolfenkoehler, 86, of Jackson passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at Auburn Creek Assisted Living in Cape Girardeau. She will once again be with Dale, her beloved husband of 67 years, who passed away Jan. 24, 2015.

She was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Millersville, daughter of David A. and Carrie A. Estes Lange. She and Dale K. Wolfenkoehler were married Dec. 25, 1947, at Millersville.

Edna was a longtime member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson, where she taught Sunday school several years, was a member of the Bible study group, Women's Fellowship and Friendship Circle.

She attended the former College High School and then graduated from Jackson High School. She worked at the former Kroger Egg Grading Plant in Jackson 20 years, and later worked at the former Golden Corral in Jackson.

Loving survivors include three children, Judy Mouser of Cape Girardeau, Susan (Clay) Brown of Florissant, Missouri, and Rick (Cheryl) Wolfenkoehler of Sikeston, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Edna was preceded in death by a son, James Wolfenkoehler, Sept. 2, 2010; three brothers, David, Robert and Estes Lange; and three sisters, Vesta Mae Meyer, Tavia Niemann and Virgie Dell Lange.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Mindy Kiepe and Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson or Auburn Creek Assisted Living in Cape Girardeau.
