PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Derrell Robert Womack, 87, of Perryville died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home...

Derrell Robert Womack, 87, of Perryville, died June 2, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 6, 1926 in LaFerria, Texas, son of Hayden Robert & Nettie Ann (Coffer) Womack.

He married V. Verneda Hahn on April 12, 1947. She survives in Perryville.

Mr. Womack worked 28 years for Diesel Power Equipment Company as a parts manager. He was a retired farmer. He was an active member of Whitewater Christian Church and American Legion Post 133. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, two sons and one daughter; Kenneth R. (Judy) and Richard D. (Denise) Womack both of Perryville, Brenda J. Breitenbach of O’Fallon, MO., one sister; Mary “Marg” Reiss of Perryville and five grandchildren; Matthew (Karen) Breitenbach, Eric (Loryl) Breitenbach, Katherine (Ian) Didriksen, Kevin Womack and Carrie (Tyson) Wunderlich, four great grandchildren; Henry, Layne, Anton and Nolan. He is loved by his family, many friends and neighbors and will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law; Elvis Reiss.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, June 6 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 6:30 am until time of Service at 10:00 am.

Funeral Service will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, June 7 at 10:00 am with Pastor Ray White officiating Burial in Whitewater Christian Church Cemetery with military graveside provided by American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.Memorials are preferred to Whitewater Christian Church or Cemetery.
