Wood, Alma H. (nee Hoffman)
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Alma H. Wood, 92, of Perryville died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Perry County Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1910, at McBride, Mo., daughter of Frank Charles and Mary Emma Yeager Hoffman. She and Perry A. Wood were married June 2, 1930. He died Aug. 16, 1997.
Wood worked at a shoe factory 20 years. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, George Wood of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Rhonda Buchheit of Biehle, Mo., Carol Moegle of St. Louis; two sisters, Melba Cissell and Eileen Wingerter of Perryville; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by a son and a brother.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. The wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Norbert Wood, a grandson, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

A funeral will be held Saturday, February 15th, 2003 for 92-year-old Alma H. Wood of Perryville who died today, Wednesday, February 12th, at the Perry County Nursing Home.
She was born November 8th, 1910 in McBride the daughter of Frank Charles and Mary Emma (Yeager) Hoffman who both preceded her in death.
She married Perry A. Wood on June 2nd, 1930. He preceded her in death on August 16th, 1997.
A son, George M. Wood of Alexandria, Virginia and two daughters and one son in law, Rhonda and Kenneth Buchheit of Biehle and Carol Sue Moegle of St. Louis, survive her.
She is also survived by a daughter in law, Delores Wood of the state of Florida.
Twenty-three grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren also survive.
A son, Dr. Al Wood and a brother, Virgil Hoffman, also preceded her in death.
She was retired after working 20 years at the shoe factory. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday, February 14th and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A funeral for 92-year-old Alma H. Wood of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 15th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. A grandson, the Rev. Norbert Wood, will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School.
