Wulfers, Ronald Joseph

Ronald "Ron" Joseph Wulfers, 61, of Aurora, Colo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away suddenly in Aurora on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, as a result of a tragic vehicle accident in which he was hit by a drunken driver. He died at the scene.

He was born Oct. 18, 1952, in Cape Girardeau to John Anthony and Joy Swindle Wulfers. He was baptized in the Catholic Church. Ron was a 1971 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau, where he excelled in sports, especially basketball. He was a 1975 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor of science degree in business/marketing. He later obtained his MBA.

Ron was a member of the Christian singles group at Spread the Word Network. He loved going to the group's picnics, Bronco parties, dances and happy hours. He was a man of faith and believed Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. He was also a longtime member of Up the Creek Ski & Rec Club in Denver and The Timberline Tall Club of Denver.

Ron was employed as a market development manager with Toshiba.

Survivors include his son, Eric Wulfers, and wife Annissa Wulfers of Aurora; grandson and "best buddy" Anthony Wulfers of Aurora; stepgranddaughter Emma Denney of Aurora; two sisters, Joyce Streiler of Jackson and Diana Hinchey of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Hal Wulfers of Golden, Colo.; five nephews; one niece; and many, many wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral was Monday at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel in Aurora.

Ron was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be sadly missed by all. One of his favorite quotations was "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." -- Plato
