Young, Bonita Sue (nee Clendenin)

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Bonita Sue Young, 62, of Perryville died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at her home. She was born Jan. 3, 1941, in Chester, Ill., daughter of Arkell W. and Dolores M. Sidick Clendenin. She and Scotty Young were married April 7, 1962. Young was a 1958 graduate of St. Vincent High School. She had been a legal secretary for the state's attorney in Chester, office clerk with the Republic-Monitor Newspaper in Perryville, and worked in the packing department at Gilster-Mary Lee Corp...

Funeral service will be held Friday, May 9, 2003 for 62-year-old Bonita Sue Young of Perryville who died Tuesday, May 6 at her residence.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1941 in Chester, Ill., the daughter of Delores M. (Sidick) Clendenin, who survives in Chester, and the late Arkell W. Clendenin.

She was married to Scotty Young on April 7, 1962. He survives in Perryville.

Two sons and one daughter-in-law survive, Jeff and Sarah Young of Perryville, and Chris Young of Perryville. One daughter and son-in-law survive, Kimberly and Steve Bishop of Perryville.

Two brothers and two sisters survive, Robert Clendenin of Belleville, Ill.; Kenneth Clendenin of Brandenburg, Ken.; Brenda Prost of Steeleville, Ill; and Mary Moeller of Chester, Ill.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One sister, Carole Clendenin, preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and a 1958 graduate of St. Vincent High School.

Visitation will be Thursday, may 8 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday, May 9 from 6:30-11:00 a.m. There will be Catholic wake service at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral Mass for Bonita Sue Young will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Alphonse Hoerning CM will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
