Young, Lucille M. (nee Versheldon)
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lucille M. Young, 92, of Perryville died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born Dec. 30, 1915, in Perry County, daughter of August P. and Anna Gotto Versheldon. She and Wallace Willard Young were married Oct. 9, 1937. He died Aug. 15, 1994.
Young was a kindergarten teacher 25 years at St. Boniface School. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, past regent of Daughters of Isabella, Ladies of Charity, SV Alumni Association, Perry County Historical Society and Retired Teachers Association and was a church lector.
Survivors include a son, David Young of Perryville; a daughter, Mary Gotto of Perryville; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Rick Valleroy officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
