PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dorothy M. Zahner, 87, of Perryville died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Independence Care Center in Perryville. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Steve Gallegos officiating. A funeral will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 for 87-year-old Dorothy M. Zahner of Perryville who died June 12, 2013 at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
She was born April 14, 1926 in Perry County, the daughter of Edward and Leona (Maddock) DeRoe who both preceded her in death.
She married Herman F. "Cotton" Zahner on March 2, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1996.
Survivors include one son and three daughters, Paul "Butch" (Linda) Zahner of Perryville, Debbie (David) Prince of Memphis, TN, Connie (Bruce) Nolen of Perryville, Beverly (Delaine) Burlison of Edmond, OK; one sister, Pat Knop of Steeleville, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren..
Visitation will be 8-11 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
A funeral mass for 87-year-old Dorothy M. Zahner of Perryville will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Gallegos officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
She worked in the kitchen at St Mary’s of the Barrens and was a homemaker.
She was a member St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, and K of C Auxiliary.
Memorials are preferred St Vincent Schools.
The Young and Sons Funeral Home provided the arrangements.
