PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Evelyn C. Zahner, 88, of Perryville died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery...

A funeral will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 for 88-year-old Evelyn C. Zahner who died July 19, 2011 at Perry Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Farrar November 6, 1922, the daughter of John and Amanda (Lorenz) Koenig.

She married Clarence L. Zahner on July 28, 1964. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2010.

She is survived by a son: Jerry (Wanda) Brandt of Perryville; two daughters: Nancy Ochs, and Sally Valleroy both of Perryville; two sisters: Viola Guemmer and Jane (Kelly) Short, both of Perryville; five brothers: Marvin "Red" (Eunice) Koenig, Larry (Katy) Koenig and Oliver Koenig, all of Perryville and Ruben Koenig of California and Willis (Ardene) Koenig of Arnold and a sister in law: Delores Koenig of Georgia; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother: Welmar Koenig and a sister: Frances Koenig.

She was a seamstress for Ollie Moore Dress Factory in Perryville and Miss Elaine Sewing Factory in Ste. Genevieve.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She loved to sew, garden and grow beautiful roses.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran church.

A funeral for 88-year-old Evelyn C. Zahner will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21st, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. .

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Food Pantry.
