Zahner, Garrie J., Sr.
A funeral will be held Thursday, August 6th, 2009 for 62-year-old Garrie Zahner, Sr. of Perryville, who died Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 in Perryville.
He was born October 23rd, 1946 in Perryville, the son of Wallace and Bernice (Mowry) Zahner. They preceded him in death.
He married Judy Donovan January 5th, 1969 in St. Mary. She survives in Perryville.
Mr. Zahner was a Security Guard at the Association of the Miraculous Medal Office in Perryville. He was an Army Veteran, Member of the V.F.W., and a life member of the AMVETS.
He is survived by five daughters: Tina Clifton, Rebecca Zahner, Brenda Meyer, and Christine Price, all of Perryville, and Diane Hobeck of Chester, IL; a son, Garrie J. Zahner, Jr. of Farmington; three brothers, Lilbern Zahner of Georgia, Ralph and Harold Zahner, both of Perryville; a sister, Della Taylor of Ste. Genevieve; 19 grandchildren also survive.
He is preceded in death two brothers-Charles & Eugene, one sister-Stella Keller. One grandson, one granddaughter.
Visitation: 5-9:00 p.m. Wed. Aug. 5, 2009, at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.
Services: 11:00am Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 in the Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville. Rev. Irvin Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Home Cemetery.
