Zahner, Marie (nee Edmond)
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marie Zahner, 92, of Perryville died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Independence Care Nursing Center in Perryville.
She was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Perry County, daughter of Ruben and Effie Kennon Edmond. She and Leroy Zahner were married May 7, 1938, in Perryville.
Zahner was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Highway Hills Extension Club. She worked at Wilson's 5 and Dime Store and the House of Color.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Suzanne Levy of Kirkwood, Mo., Kathleen Schnurbusch of Arnold, Mo.; four sons, Stephen Zahner of Brewer, Mo., Rodney Zahner of Eureka, Mo., Timothy Zahner of New Bloomfield, Mo., Robert Zahner of Perryville; a brother, Vernon Edmond of Fredericktown, Mo.; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish prayers with Daughters of Isabella will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery at Perryville.
