Zahner, Oliver Simon
HIGHLAND, Mo. -- Oliver S. Zahner, 84, of Highland died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at his home.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Zahner will then be taken to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland for Mass at 10 a.m., with Rev. Robert Brockland officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A funeral will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 for 84-year-old Oliver S. Zahner of Highland who died November 16, 2011 at his residence.
He was born January 30, 1927 in Perry County, the son of Daniel and Urthel (Welker) Zahner who both preceded him in death.
He married Mildred C. Berkbuegler on October 14, 1950. She survives in Highland.
He is also survived by three sons: Leslie (Tammy) Zahner of Perryville,
Russell (Yanfang) Zahner of Cape Girardeau and Troy Zahner (and special friend Bea Jokerst) all of Perryville; a daughter: Verna (Dale) Bohnert of Perryville; a sister: Eleanor Hagan of Perryville; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Merlin Zahner; a sister: Elva Weibrecht; and three brothers: Alanzo, Raymond, and Daniel Zahner.
He was a retired machine operator at Mississippi Lime in Ste. Genevieve.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland and the Holy Name Society.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 and 6:30-9:20 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral for 84-year-old Oliver S. Zahner of Highland will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland for Mass at 10:00 am with Rev. Robert Brockland. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
