ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Albert E. Zoellner, 90, of Altenburg, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, in the Perry County Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Frohna, Mo., son of Erwin and Emma Wirth Zoellner. He and Lorene Petzoldt were married Oct. 25, 1941...

A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 25th, 2007 for 90-year-old Albert E. Zoellner of Altenburg who died Saturday, April 21st at the Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born September 19th, 1916 in Frohna, the son of Erwin and Emma (Wirth) Zoellner, who both preceded him in death.

He married Lorene Petzoldt on October 25th, 1941. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Schlimpert of Altenburg; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Mike Ponder, Becky and Stuart Ruehling, Jennifer and Stan Hadler or Lori and Trent Bronenkant; 10 great grandchildren, Luke and Mia Ponder, Nichole, Rachel, Shane and Ross Hadler, Zachary and Abby Ruehling and Carly and Leah Bronenkant.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Martin and Lutz Rauh and a son in law, Oliver Schlimpert.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and Choral Society for 60-plus years, past president of the Altenburg Lion's Club, member of the East Perry Band (later called the Saxony Hills Band), former Altenburg alderman and Altenburg Athletic Association member, avid bowler, musician and ball player.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24th and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25th at the Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

A funeral for 90-year-old Albert E. Zoellner of Altenburg will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25th at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. The Rev. Steven Dressler will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Church New Hymnal Fund.
